Perinatal Mood & Anxiety Disorders
Pregnancy is time filled with mixed emotions; many women feel overwhelmed, sad, or anxious at different times during their pregnancy and even after the baby is born. For many women, these feelings go away on their own, but for approximately 20% of women and men, these emotions are more serious. If you are feeling sad, depressed, irritable, anxious, panicky, out of control, or are experiencing difficulty bonding with your baby, upsetting thoughts, appetite, or sleep changes, you may have a perinatal mood of anxiety disorder.

Our medical team is committed to helping women and their families cope with the unique emotional and psychological challenges that can come with pregnancy. Our nurse practitioner has published a paper on this topic and specializes in managing these conditions. She has extensive knowledge of the safety of using medications during the child-bearing years, including pregnancy and breast feeding. We are here to provide the care and support needed for this special and important time in a woman's life.

Perinatal loss is the loss of pregnancy and includes a miscarriage or stillbirth at any time during pregnancy. A miscarriage occurs before 20 weeks of gestation, while a stillbirth occurs from 20 weeks of pregnancy and later, until the expected time of birth. Unfortunately, perinatal loss is common; more than 30% of pregnancy are lost. The journey of processing and mourning any perinatal death is devastating and complex. Many feel alone and do not know where to turn for help.

Postpartum post-traumatic stress disorder may follow a traumatic birthing experience. Perinatal Trauma and PTSD often goes unrecognized and unacknowledged; unrecognized, individuals with postpartum PTSD may develop anxiety and/or depression. Recovering takes time, but there is help available. At V!BE, we are specially trained to provide trauma-informed care, we promise to provide a safe space to help you heal.

Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS) & Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD)
Many women who menstruate will experience mild PMS. Common symptoms of PMS include manageable emotional changes, breast tenderness, increased appetite, abdominal bloating and bowel changes in the week leading up to their period. While PMS can range in severity, it is not usually associated with an increased difficulty of completing daily tasks at home, work, or school, and as such, does not typically require medical intervention.
PMDD is a mental health disorder that affects approximately 6% of menstruating women. PMDD is often associated with intense anger, irritability, anxiety, depression, and emotional changes that occur up to 2 weeks prior to the onset of the period and a complete resolution of symptoms once the period starts. . PMDD causes a disruption in a women's life, making it challenging to complete the daily tasks she otherwise would not have difficulty with; this may include lack of interest in hobbies, sleep & appetite changes, problems with work, school, home-life, or relationships, along with the symptoms of PMS. Women with PMDD have complete resolution of symptoms with the period onset.
Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)
Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) can cause a wide range of symptoms, both physical and psychological. PCOS can cause hormonal and menstrual irregularities, infertility, insulin resistance, excess and male patterned body hair, and is strongly associated with depression and anxiety. Women with PCOS may struggle with their self-image and identity, social relationships, intimacy, and sexuality, along with physical and mental health. Evidence is limited in why as many as 40% of women with PCOS experience increased rates of anxiety, depression, and eating disorders, though many suggest it is a result of androgen (sex hormones) excess. At V!BE, we have over 15 years of managing PCOS and understand the complex relationship between hormones and mood. We will work closely with you to manage the challenges associated with PCOS.

Perimenopausal Anxiety & Mood Disorders
Perimenopause can be a challenging and stressful time ,filled with changes in life, health, and hormones. Many women experience hot flashes, night sweats, and menstrual irregularities. What many do not know, is that approximately 40% of women also experience changes in their mood. Common changes in mood include increased irritability, low energy, emotional sensitivity, difficulty concentrating, depression, loss of interest in hobbies, anxiety, nausea, and sweating, In addition to mood changes, many will experience insomnia and increased fatigue.
At V!BE, we understand the turmoil and distress these life, health, and hormone changes can cause. We will work with you to balance your hormones and mood, so you can get back to living the life you love and deserve.
Hormone Disorders
Our hormonal needs change throughout our lifetime. Hormonal dysfunction may occur anytime between adolescence and menopause. They occur in both men and women. Hormone imbalance may negatively affect our sense of balance & wellness. Unfortunately, hormonal dysfunction is often overlooked in the mental healthcare setting, often leaving you feeling unheard. We believe that hormonal integration is an essential element when managing the whole individual.
We have over 15 years of experience in contraception management and treating PCOS, infertility, adolescents with hormonal dysfunction, premenstrual dysphoria, and perimenopausal and postmenopausal hormonal support and guidance to provide optimal support. Our goal is to empower men and women to live the healthiest, happiest life possible.

Generalized Anxiety & Mood Disorders
We lead busy lives and many are struggling to achieve balance with increasing demands. If you are experiencing hopelessness, low energy, motivation, restlessness, poor sleep, mood or appetite changes, or difficulty with focus and concentration, you are not alone. Over 46% of individuals will experience generalized anxiety or mood disorders during their lifetime. We offer personalized treatment plans for depression and anxiety, incorporating medication management, meditation, and therapy, to help you reduce the negative impact of stress on their lives and achieve optimal mental wellness.

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
PTSD can occur after you have been through a traumatic event. The word "trauma" is used for many different types of experiences that are stressful. But not all stressful events are the type of trauma that can leas to PTSD. If you have ever experienced abuse, been in physical dancer, or a life-threatening situation, you may have PTSD. Many individuals believe that if they just suppress and bury these memories, they will go away; unfortunately, that is not usually the case. Many individuals with unprocessed trauma experience anxiety, panic, difficulty with focus and concentration, sleep disturbances, or generalized body pain. The good news is that with medications, and/or TMS therapy, combined with specialized trauma therapy, many will recover and begin to feel better.

Medical Trauma
Many individuals with general medical conditions experience medical trauma. Medical trauma is the experience of traumatic stress as a result of interactions with the medical system; this may include medical procedures, new diagnoses, and/or professionals within the healthcare setting. While the symptoms of medical trauma vary, many individuals experience distressing memories, avoidance of medical settings and/or procedures, sleep disturbances, anxiety, or mood changes including irritability, hopelessness, and/or worthlessness.

Sleep-Wake Disorders
Sleep difficulties are linked to both physical and emotional problems. Sleep problems may contribute to or exacerbate mental health conditions and can be a symptom of other mental health conditions. Sleep disorders often cause difficulty in inducing and maintaining sleep, often resulting in daytime fatigue, and functional impairment. Sleep-wake disorders often occur among parents with young children, individuals with stressful school or job scheduled, along with medical or mental health conditions, such as anxiety, mood disorders, trauma, cognitive delays, or the hormonal dysfunction that often accompanies peri- and post-menopause. Insomnia is the most common sleep-wake disorder. Other sleep-wake disorders include obstructive sleep apnea, narcolepsy, and restless leg syndrome, or parasomnias (sleep paralysis, night terrors, sleepwalking, sleep-talking, or sleep-related eating disorders).

We understand the importance of rest and relaxation for overall health and wellbeing. That’s why we are dedicated to helping you get a good night’s sleep. With our comprehensive evaluations and treatments for sleep disorders, you can rest assured that you are in good hands.

Ketamine Assisted Services
Ketamine has the ability to facilitate existential and psychological growth. It has gained attention for its ability to treat and manage various mental health conditions such as depression, alcoholism, substance use, PTSD, and other psychiatric disorders. There are various forms of ketamine administration available, including intranasal (Esketamine/Spravato), sublingual oral troches, intravenous (IV), and intramuscular (IM) injections; many of these can be delivered in conjunction with psychotherapy. However, it is important to note that only Esketamine/Spravato is FDA approved for treatment and management of Treatment Resistant Depression and/or Acute Suicidal Ideation; the other modalities are considered "off-label," which means they are are not approved by the FDA to treat mental health conditions.
Ketamine works by increasing neuroplasticity in the brain (the ability of neural networks in the brain to grow and reorganize). Benefits of ketamine assisted therapy include increased access to traumatic memories, without the pain and anxiety that often accompany them. This can change the footprint of traumatic memories, while improving symptoms of anxiety, depression, and overall wellbeing. We have teamed up with psychedelic-trained therapist to offer ketamine assisted therapy, providing you with access to the highest quality of care, in the safest environment possible.
Eating Disorders & Disordered Eating
Eating disorders are behavioral conditions characterized by persistent and severe eating patterns, that are associated with intrusive and distressing thoughts and emotions. Eating disorders are common, affecting approximately 7 million people world wide. Common eating disorders include anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge-eating, and avoidant/restrictive eating. Eating disorders can be serious and may lead to long-term medical problems. With proper medical care, individuals with eating disorders can learn how to adapt healthier eating habits, thereby, improving their physical, emotional, and psychological health.

Disordered eating is also common and often less serious than an eating disorder. Disordered eating is often associated with similar behavioral patterns of eating disorders, but they occur to a lesser degree and are not as severe; typical patterns include restrictive eating, chronic dieting, and a preoccupation with food. However, disordered eating is not without risk. Individuals with disordered eating will occasionally develop an eating disorder. At V!BE, we have experience in treating eating disorders and can provide ongoing support and guidance to help you achieve a healthier relationship with food.

Focus & Concentration Deficit
Difficulty with maintaining focus and concentration has become more challenging in recent times. We are often required to spend prolonged periods of time focused on computers, mobile devices, work or school, while managing the demands of home and family life. It can be challenging to maintain focus and concentration during these times, especially if you have other mental health struggles.
At V!BE, we provide thorough evaluations and comprehensive care for individuals across the lifespan with disorders causing problems with attention, focus, and concentration. Our goal is to help our clients achieve their highest potential, not only in their academics or work, but in every aspect of life.
